“ Such a nice cosy cafe and really lovely staff. Took my son here for lunch after his theory test and they congratulated him on passing it when we walked in- they'd seen him waiting upstairs to take his test. A little moment of kindness and it made us both smile- thankyou :) the drinks and the food are delicious and very generous portions- lots to choose from too. Been a few times, we will be back again for sure! ”

“ After travelling from Australia this is the first place I found to stop and wait to meet up with friends. The atmosphere was gorgeous. Loved seeing everyone greet each other by first name. The ladies that were serving were absolutely gorgeous. It was like nothing was too much for them. I will be back. Huge love for a licensed Cafe!! My first G&T on British soil. ”

“ What an amazing café tucked away. The ladies working there are very friendly, the food is very good, a wide selection of food and treats, and the coffee is incredible. A great place for a coffee and a slice of apple pie before a train journey. ”

- Andrew Butlin -

“ Located at the bus station and really close to the train station, we popped in for breakfast. Lovely selection of cakes and pastries. We opted for a full English but there was lots of choice on the lunch menu too. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Thumbs up - thankyou. ”

- Maria Lysenko (My Bucket List At 60) -

“ Was going to send my friend home at the bus station, when I thought of this cafe. The decoration looked lovely with the falling fairy lights (definitely good for photos!) We ordered smoothies, nice but definitely could do with improvement on the consistency and it was quite sour, but I personally like sour taste. The cakes were good too. They have a large variety on their menu! :) ”

- Jilla Rodpunyar -

“ Very pleasant place to pop for a coffee and a bite to eat. Been here a couple of times, fast service and tasty food. Good vibes and you even get a little pair of scissors to open the sauce sachets... helpful if you lack a bit of dexterity like me! ”

“ If there were a travel brochure titled *“Saga Holidays: Lincoln – The Deluxe Cake Edition”*, this place would be on the front cover. The Grand Coffee Shop is perfectly positioned right next to the bus stop, which means easy access for pensioners, prams, tired shoppers, and anyone whose knees click when they stand up. Absolute prime real estate. Step inside and it’s immediately obvious someone has put real thought (and love) into the place. The café looks fantastic — comfy furniture, loads of different tables and chairs so you never feel like you’re sitting in a copy-and-paste IKEA showroom, and an impressive collection of light fittings that somehow all work together. Old coffee shop signs line the walls, twinkly lights glow in the windows, and the whole place has that cosy “stay for another hour” vibe. Now… the cake. Sweet mercy, the cake. If you like cake, *really* like cake, or just want to stare at cake in disbelief, this is your spiritual home. I chose the Dubai choc and pistachio cookie pie — a bold decision, a brave decision, and possibly a life-shortening decision. Good job I haven’t got diabetes because this thing was absolutely a contender for giving it to me on the spot. I don’t know how I finished it, but I did, and I regret nothing. I’d already hit my maximum coffee intake for the day, so while my wife sensibly enjoyed a pot of tea, I went full rebel and had a bottle of Bulmers cider. Total yin and yang — could not have been further apart on the spectrum if we tried. Staff were genuinely polite and friendly, adding to the warm, welcoming feel. Best coffee and cake shop in Lincoln? Honestly… I’d say yes. Well worth a visit — just maybe wear stretchy trousers. Oh and I didn't mention they do food too!! ”
